That margin will go up as crit chance improves, and go down as DT increases.ĮDIT: Also, those calculations don't take ammunition into account.308 ammo is cheaper and more plentiful, and also has a HP variant (which puts Paciencia's damage above the AMR's against very low-DT enemies), and the JSP hand load for high-armor targets.50 BMG, on the other hand, has Explosive and Incendiary, which, while impressive, are not multiplicative damage bonuses, so they shine the best where Paciencia is already better than the AMR (low-DT enemies), and the Match Handload ammo has only half the damage boost of the.

TL: DR: Against no-DT enemies, with a 15% crit chance, Paciencia out-DPSes the AMR by 35% with no speed increasing perks, and 15% with all speed-increasing perks. I'm not going to sit down and run the math to figure out exactly what the DT threshold is at which the AMR passes Paciencia. Of course, the AMR will be more effective for a first shot from stealth (where the bonus crit chance is negated by the garunteed critical), and will also be more effective against enemies with high DT. Paciencia will hit for 55 damage per shot, with 6 crits with 110 bonus damage each, for a total of 1,760 damage, or about 69% of the AMR's damage output. (rough math: With Luck 5, Finesse, and the Recon beret, base crit chance = 15%, in 20 shots an AMR will average 110 damage per shot, with 3 crits with 110 bonus damage each, for a total of 2,530 damage.

So Paciencia isn't quite twice as fast as the AMR, but with the high crit damage and boosted crit chance, it will do appreciably more than half damage, especially with a crit-focused build. This reduces to 1.9 seconds per shot with all applicable perks/abilities. 4 shots/second and 8 shots per reload is 20 seconds between reloads, 2.5 seconds to reload, is 8 shots in 22.5 seconds, or about 2.8 seconds per shot. This is down to just under 1.1 seconds per shot with all applicable perks/abilities.ĪMR. Paciencia: 1.2 shots/second and 3 shots per reload is 2.5 seconds between reloads, 2 seconds to reload, is 3 shots in 4.5 seconds, or 1.5 seconds per shot. Add in almost double the firing speed (with reloading taken into account) and some crit-boosting stuff (high luck, Finesse, crit-boosting gear, etc.), and I would guess that it could probably match or exceed the AMR's damage output. It's got half the base damage of the Antimaterial rifle, but the same crit damage and double the crit chance. Some of that informtion (fire speed, reload speed, etc.) is available on the individual weapon description pages.Īdmittedly, I haven't tried any of the GRA weapons because of a computer failure which left me unable to play FNV, but I would try Paciencia, the unique hunting rifle.
